Faclilitation Icon

We’re often asked to facilitate different sorts of meetings and events. Anything from a board meeting to a large conference. A skilled facilitator is like a catalyst – without it, nothing happens.

Facilitation requires a specific skill set, which is not the same as consulting or training (although many people have all three skill sets). A real knowledge of group dynamics is necessary, and of different methods of working together.

A good facilitator can bring out ideas that you didn’t know you had, as well as keeping meetings constructive and on track. They can also suggest exercises and ways of tackling issues, other than sitting round the table. Using structured processes rather than free-for-all discussion is often much more effective to facilitate decision making and creative thinking.
